Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid should be tried for treason and then hanged. By declaring that "this war is lost" he has given encouragement to our enemies.
Listen people with common sense, I agree that Bush is about the dumbest thing to come into office, but for crying out loud, this is NOT about Bush. This is about dealing with a situation that we are in whether we like it or not. I personally don't care for the fact that so many of our men and women are dying for an apathetic Iraq. I think that our interest in oil was a deciding factor in our going there. But damn it, regardless of that, WE ARE THERE. And the most important thing to remember is that what we do will determine what happens next.
Consider this. D-Day is a disaster, the invasion has failed. Both the Axis and the Allies are willing to call a truce due to the exhausting of both our funds. Would it have been acceptable to make peace with the Nazis in the name of taking the easy way out? Or would it have been more costly in human life to call a truce?
There is a similar debacle to consider. Consider that we back down from Iraq. I could personally care less what happens to them after seeing their disdain for our assistance. But what would be the disaster is that enemy would know that their barbaric tactics work. That by sawing off the heads of innocent people, blowing up government offices and innocent men women and children in crowded markets is the way to achieve what they want.
That my friends is the real danger. The message we send them. By admitting defeat, Harry Reid has encouraged the enemy to continue their attacks in the hopes that the politicians will favor propaganda over the decency of civilized life.
